Our Legacy in Billiards

Billiards at Colombo Colts Cricket Club began in 1997, with S.H. Rajakaruna serving as the first Billiard Secretary. Over the years, the billiards community here has grown into more than just a group of players it has become a close-knit family, sharing friendship, support, and a passion for the game. Today, under the guidance of current Billiard Secretary M.D. Ifthikar, this spirit continues to thrive. Since 2006, the club has hosted regular tournaments to recognise and appreciate the talents of our players, strengthening both our skills and our bonds.

Tournaments Through the Years

Since 2006, the Colombo Colts Cricket Club has proudly organised annual billiards tournaments, giving members a chance to showcase their skills and celebrate the sport they love. Each event is more than just a competition — it’s a gathering of friends and family, filled with laughter, encouragement, and unforgettable moments.

Snooker Tournament - 2006

The inaugural club snooker tournament saw a thrilling final where Sajith Fernando claimed the championship, with N.P. Siripala finishing as runner-up. The awards were proudly presented by Club President K. Mathivanan, marking the beginning of our annual tradition.

Snooker Pot Black Tournament - 2007

Susantha Samarawickrama emerged as the champion, celebrated in a group photo with Club President K. Mathivanan, fellow snooker players, and marker S. Balasundaram, capturing the spirit of camaraderie that defines our billiards family.

Pot Black Snooker Knockout Tournament - 2008

Nilakshan Abeyratne took the championship title, with Tony Boharan as runner-up and M.D. Ifthikar securing third place. The memorable photo featured the winners alongside fellow players, the Club Treasurer M. Ratnaharan, and marker S. Balasundaram, reflecting the friendly yet competitive spirit of the event.

Inaugural Six Red Ball Snooker Championship - 2008 ( President K. Mathivanan Challenge Trophy)

Contested for the President K. Mathivanan Challenge Trophy, S.K. Raveendran claimed the championship, followed by N.P. Siripala as first runner-up, M.D. Ifthikar as second runner-up, and Dias Muthukuda as third runner-up. A group photo captured the winners alongside the Club Treasurer M. Ratnaharan and marker S. Balasundaram, celebrating the exciting launch of this new tournament format.

Pot Black Snooker Tournament - 2011

N.P. Siripala emerged as the champion, awarded by Club President K. Mathivanan, while Lester Fernando finished as runner-up, receiving recognition from the General Secretary Rohantha De Fonseka, marking another memorable chapter in the club’s billiards history.

Charaka Gunawardana emerged as the champion, while Athula Sedara and Sasiwarna secured the runner-up and second runner-up positions, respectively. The winners were celebrated alongside club officials and fellow players, reflecting both the competitive spirit and the strong sense of camaraderie that defines Colombo Colts’ billiards community.
