Colombo Colts Cricket Club put together another commanding performance in the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament 2025, defeating Nugegoda Sports Club by 82 runs in a well-rounded display of both batting depth and bowling control.

Batting first, the Colts posted a competitive total of 275 for 9 in 50 overs, built around a classy knock of 81 by Sangeeth Cooray, who anchored the innings with his trademark elegance. The middle order contributed handsomely to keep the run rate healthy—Kavishka Anjula hammered 55 off just 39 deliveries, while Dhananjaya Lakshan (39) and Muditha Lakshan (34) added vital partnerships through the middle. Late cameos from Angelo Mathews (27) and Hirun Gallage (18) pushed the total beyond 270, giving the Colts a strong foundation to defend.

In response, Nugegoda SC never looked settled at the crease, with wickets falling at regular intervals. The Colts’ bowlers were on point once again, led by Muditha Lakshan, who delivered a brilliant spell of 2 for 11.
